Branson hosts Ironman 70.3 Event  - Branson will serve as one of 34 worldwide qualifying events for the 2010 Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3 in Clearwater, FL. Professional athletes will be competing for a $25,000 prize purse in a course that includes a 1.2 mile swim in Table Rock Lake followed by a 56-mile bike and 13.1 mile run. Registration is now open and is limited to 2,000 athletes. October 2 First Annual Regional Titanic Firehouse Chili Cookoff - Fireman chefs will compete for thousands of dollars in prize money while honoring the brave firemen who stoked the Titanic's boilers. Competition is 10 am - 4 pm in the Titanic Branson parking area. First place wins $3,000!  The public is invited to watch the competition, sample the concoctions, and vote. A special "People's Choice Award" donation will be made to the Missouri Humane Society.
